The Good News of Jesus Christ
Gospel means 'Good News'. Despite all that's going on in the world today, with all its catastrophies and wars, there is 'good news'.
The Bible is Gods Word to all of mankind. The Bible is divided into an Old Testament and a NEW Testament, the former gives us a history of the Creation of the World, the history of the Nation of Israel and Prophetic books that tell of a coming Messiah and of the end of time as we know it.
The Messiah that is foretold in the Old Testament, is revealed in the New Testament - His name is Jesus Christ.
The Bible tells us about His name: Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.
This prophecy was fulfilled in the New testament: Matthew 1:22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 23 “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel”(which means “God with us”).
Luke 1:31 You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David,
Jesus came to this earth, God in human form, to save us from our sins. The Bible clearly tells us that we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). This chapter in Romans goes on to say that we can be saved through faith in Christ:
Romans 3:24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— 26 he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.
The Bible tells us that we have to REPENT of our sin and believe in Jesus for salvation. To repent means to turn from ones own ways and follow Christ, to trust in Him and make Him the Lord of your life.
He diedupon the cross to pay the price for your sins and His blood can wash you clean and make you righteous in Gods eyes. You cannot do it yourself, you cannot work your way to heaven. It is only through Jesus:
John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Will you Trust Him Today?
